KINETIC ARTS PARTNERS WITH PRODUCER/DIRECTOR MCKAY DAINES FOR TWO NEW FEATURE FILMS
Kinetic Arts, a full service film and digital video production company based in New York City, is pleased to announce a partnership with Producer/Director McKay Daines to assist in the production of two new exciting feature films: Dream Catcher and The Wanderers.
Dream Catcher is a Native American romantic comedy in which two feuding members from neighboring tribes are able to form a lasting peace that affects the destinies of their descendants as well as their reservations. The film features such Native American talent as Curb Records recording artist Jana and actors Wes Studi, Drew Lacapa, Apasanahkwat, and Ray Tracey, who is also Executive Producer. Production is slated for late Spring with a Fall 2002 release.
The Wanderers is a historical drama that's part mystery, part comedy, about the relationship between 18th century British literary figures Dr. Samuel Johnson and James Boswell. The mystery on which the plot is based is Dr. Johnson's still unexplained friendship with a minor, slightly crazed, bombastic, murdering poet, Richard Savage. Johnson went out of his way to eloquently and powerfully defend Savage in a book that none of Johnson's respected friends (famed members of the historic Literary Club in 1776 London) could ever explain. The film takes its inspiration from such historically based hits as Shakespeare in Love and Gosford Park. The majority of the film will be shot in multiple locations in Scotland and England, including Oxford University.
Alex Twersky, a Managing Partner of Kinetic Arts, said, "It's great to be able to work with such an experienced creative force as McKay Daines. We look forward to both of these projects contributing significantly to the Co-Production side of our business, both domestic and international. It's our expectation that our partnership with McKay will not only lead to success with these two films but many others to come".
