Janelle
Taylor is an author, lecturer, and President of Janelle Taylor Enterprises.
She is a wife of 35 years, mother of 2 daughters, and has 3 grandchildren.
She began writing in '77 and sold her first two books in 4/81. By 6/00,
she has 40 books, 3 novellas, and 3 three-novel collections in print,
with forty million+ copies worldwide, including many foreign languages.
She has eight NY Times bestsellers and nine PW 'million plus" bestsellers.
She writes western, Indian, historical, medieval fantasy, science fiction,
and contemporary romances and romantic suspense. She also writes short
stories and non-fiction. She has two books on audiocassette and has sold
movie rights to several novels. Past occupations include Orthodontic Nurse
and Medical Research Technologist IV. Janelle lives in the country on
seventy-nine acres of woods and pasture with a five-acre lake and a catfish
pond. She writes in a Spanish cottage, which overlooks the lake, a working
water mill, gazebo, and covered bridge. She has won many awards, been
honored by the University of Georgia with the 'Janelle Taylor Collection",
and chosen for the RT Writers Hall of Fame and the RWA Honor Roll of Bestsellers.
She has contributed articles or chapters to other authors and sources,
and has two short stories published. She has appeared on television shows
including co-hosting the QVC/TV Romance Book Club Show, Rolanda, given
numerous newspapers and magazine interviews, done live and pre-recorded
radio programs, participated in autographing, given speeches at schools
and clubs, been a special guest at many grand openings, and toured most
of the country for her publishers. She has taught workshops (group and
individual) at conferences and schools around the country. She participates
in charity/celebrity auctions for libraries, schools, literacy, homeless,
Community Outreach Program, Diabetes Association and American Indian projects.
She collects spoons and coins from around the world, model ships, her
cover artwork, Indian relics, dolls, music boxes, and old books. She loves
to fish, target shoot, ride horses, play chess, travel (especially camping
with her husband and friends), work on her family genealogy, read, listen
to music, watch football, take walks, chat with friends, meet readers
and booksellers, and create stories.
Janelle makes every attempt
to catch a reader's interest by being authentic, fast-paced, suspenseful,
and original. Her characters are created with love and great care to be
