BUSINESS MANAGEMENT

  • Managed a federally chartered corporation with 84 employees. Achieved a 27% growth rate during my tenure. Initiated business products aimed at capturing a greater market share of Grand Canyon tourism.
  • Supervised a community development department for a town of 2,000 residents and provided task force coordination for over $4 million in capital improvements.

FINANCIAL OVERSIGHT

  • Prepared a $520K budget annually for 5 years to meet the operational needs of diverse programs including public works, environmental remediation, roads maintenance, solid waste & recycling and custodial services.
  • Coordinated extensive fiscal planning for a $6.9 million budget and monitored a corporate accounting office to ensure GAAP standards. Organized departmental units (including remote location operations) to promote accurate assessment of business and human resource requirements.

STRATEGIC PLANNING

  • Coordinated strategic action planning for the 1999 Robbie Knievel Grand Canyon Jump aired by Fox television to an estimated viewing audience of 1.5 million people.
  • Generated strategic action planning for the Grand Canyon International Marathon (an international sports event run at the rim of the Grand Canyon - see www.RunTheRim.com) and identified internal and external risk factors, market niche development, enhancement of products and services and marketing strategies.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

  • Supervised the revitalization of a business district located on Historic Route 66 and was awarded $625K through the AZ Dept. of Transportation's Enhancement Program. Provided administrative oversight during design and construction phases.
  • Designed light commercial buildings including a Dialysis Medical Center, Fire & EMS Station, Education Training Center, and Community Sports Park collectively valued at $2.6 million. Acted as Owner's Representative throughout the development and procurement process to ensure project closure within budget.

TECHNICAL RESEARCH

  • Wrote technical grants and obtained funding in excess of $6.5 million and acted as contracting officer with federal and state government agencies including EPA, FAA, US DOT, BIA, HIS, USDA, HUD, the Inter-Tribal Council of AZ, The AZ Departments of Transportation and Commerce.

ORAL PRESENTATION

  • Presented oral arguments to FAA's Grand Canyon Overflights Committee in defense of a significant $750K revenue stream and successfully obtained protection of this profit center within the Code of Federal Regulation.
  • Communicated updates on a monthly basis to a Tribal Council for the period of 5.5 years and to a Corporate Board of Directors for 2 years
